Brief: to create an online presence for the new MUFG Investor Services brand.
Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services was founded as part of the wider MUFG family, a Japanese investment bank with separate subsidiaries and entities in banking sectors such as securities lending, global custody and forex. As these businesses continued to grow, the need arose for a consolidated brand that would help MUFG differentiate itself in an increasingly competitive and challenging industry.
From here, the new brand MUFG Investor Services brand was born, summarised by their new tagline “One trusted partner for the global investment industry.” Our brief was to design and build a new responsive website that successfully presented all of their solutions and products, allowing prospects and clients to easily digest this new consolidated approach to investment banking.
Solution: to design and build a modern and responsive website that provides consistency and brand recognition.
At the initial stage we worked closely with the client to capture their business and functional requirements and agreed a basic site architecture and project plan.
We set up key template pages which were shared and agreed by the client before related pages were built. This ensured the build of the site was as time and cost efficient as possible.
The final website was built in the WordPress content management system (CMS) which ensured ease of use for future updates, as well as a site that is compatible with mobile devices, responsive and optimised for SEO
Challenges: developing brand identity in a competitive industry.
With the recent introduction of the MUFG Investor Services brand, we realised that the process of building brand recognition would be a long term one. Therefore our design process looked to develop upon the brand guidelines and bring the banks global presence to life.
All imagery was carefully chosen with the client to highlight their presence in key international hubs such as London, Tokyo and New York. New site sections, such as Insight & Media, were also developed to showcase the latest thinking from the Investor Services Group and begin to position the brand as thought leaders in their industry.
Results: a new responsive website to showcase solutions and products, as well as support for wider marketing activity.
The new website was launched in late April 2015 and is regularly updated with careers postings, press releases and thought leadership content. The client now has the benefit of being able to showcase the new website as a live example when communicating the new brand to customers and the wider MUFG family.
Here at Talisman our work progresses as we aim continuously to optimise the site’s performance, through the implementation of SEO best practice and the addition of new functionality through WordPress.
